Are we sure there’s no bassoon in this show? I just saw it (West End (2023/11/21) and it seemed to have a couple exposed bassoon bits in the second half.
Definitely no bassoon on this, I presume what you heard was a bassoon patch on keys, sadly not many live double reeds in the West End anymore!
