According to Tams-Witmark, they are now only (as far as I can tell; correct me if I’m wrong) offering a revised edition with one reed book:

Piccolo, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, & Bass Clarinet

I do not know if the flute requires a low-B head joint, or if the bass clarinet requires low-C.

The Rental instrumentation is exactly the instruments used in the production circa 2000 or 2001 that I played at Goodspeed At Chester, which was supervised by the composer. There was no low B for flute or low C for bass clarinet required. Jerry Herman had always wanted the musical to be a chamber piece and this was the production of his wishes that he was talked out of by the powers that be in 1969. It was scored by Chris Jahnke for two keyboards, viola, reed and (possibly) drums. I sincerely hope this is what is being rented, as it was perfect for the musical/
