Added based on information received from Wayne Leechford.
The alternate/optional version of the Reed 1 & 2 books is sometimes used in the touring production. I’m playing the show this week in San Antonio TX. Reed 2 of the alternate version is Flute, Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone (no bass clarinet).
I can confirm that the bass clarinet was removed for the tour, both in the alternate and the regular versions of the Reed 2 book.
