It was put up at a community theater in Maine at the end of last month. I was the only reed player and played things out of Reeds 1 and 2 and the optional alto and tenor books. My understanding is that the optional parts were for actors on stage to play when possible.

What city did Blaise’s comment come from?
I assume they are only hiring the 1&2 Reed books not optional?

Playing now in Cleveland. Same as above. Covering parts from four books.
Got my answer 2016 tour all actor musicians. No locals hired.

In the Tams-Whitmark Rental version (https://tamswitmark.com/shows/cabaret-1998-version/) the optional part is Tenor Sax and Clarinet, not just Tenor Sax.
